    Chamber Trustee: Tyrol Basin

In 2020, one of our goals is to continue telling our members’ stories. We want to share with our audience who are members are and why they are a crucial part of making this community thrive. To start out, we wanted to highlight our Chamber Trustees.

Chamber Trustees are the Chamber’s top partner and without them, a lot of what we do would simply not be possible. Today, we are highlighting our newest Chamber Trustee, Tyrol Basin.

    Tyrol Basin

If you have been living under a rock, Tyrol Basin is one of Mount Horeb’s top attractions and largest employers in the area bringing hundreds of visitors to the area and employing over 200 employees.

Tyrol Basin’s roots go back to the late 1950’s. Over the years the ski and snowboard area has been passed through different hands and is currently owned by Nathan McGree. Since purchasing Tyrol, Nathan has grown the ski hill exponentially.

Tyrol Basin has transformed into a year round destination, offering skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in the colder months, and new additions in their “off-season.”

New additions include an improved wedding venue/event space, added disc golf, a brand new haunted attraction in the fall, and Thursday BBQ and Friday Fish Fry in the summer.

Along with having a great set up for skiers/snowboarders, Tyrol Basin’s new tubing hill provides an opportunity for those of any skill to get outdoors and enjoy Wisconsin’s winter.

Overall, Tyrol Bain provides wholesome & adventurous year-round family fun at an affordable price. When we asked Tyrol what their favorite part of the Mount Horeb Community is, they replied “People here want to help one another, and we see that every day at our resort. Our locals make Tyrol the best and we are reminded of that every day.”

If you haven’t gotten out to Tyrol Basin yet, what are you waiting for? Take the kids for a tubing adventure, enjoy a cocktail or beer overlooking the hill, or strap on your skis and get out there!
