5th Annual Ice Cream Tasting

Mount Horeb's downtown Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St) asks for your help choosing the site-exclusive, can’t-get-it-it-anywhere-else 2023 Flavor of the Year. Community feedback is requested via an upcoming ice cream taste testing, to be held on-site on Tuesday, April 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a free, drop-in; all are welcome. Guests will have the opportunity to sample eight unique ice cream concoctions, record their observations and rank their favorites. Ingredients and flavors are based on the theme of “Summer Carnival” –with the winning ice cream fittingly debuted the weekend of Mount Horeb’s own hometown festival, the Summer Frolic. The Driftless Historium is once again collaborating with UW-Platteville’s Dr. Tera Montgomery, her Ice Cream Making students and Pioneer Sweets for this important project. During the April 18 tasting, the student creators will be on hand to answer questions about flavor profiles, ingredient inspirations and the production process.
