Hands All Around Quilters and the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society are partnering for a day trip to Cedarburg’s Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts. This edifying and entertaining excursion takes place on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, with a participation fee of $92 for round-trip travel by comfortable coach bus (pick up/drop off in Mount Horeb), museum admission and catered lunch. All are welcome to join the fun and fellowship, but this field trip has a limited capacity. At the Quilt Museum, Quilt Club/Historical Society friends will take in a morning workshop, “Fabulous Historical Fads, Fibers and Trends,” break for a lunch, then enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the permanent collection with Executive Director Melissa Wraalstad, who will share storage and display best practices –a perfect fit for quilt enthusiast and history lovers alike! The Quilt Museum is an award-winning destination, one of USA Today’s “top ten places to see a quilt in the U.S” and a multi-time nominee for the Wisconsin Governor’s Award for Heritage, Culture and the Arts. The Museum is located in an 1850s barn and situated on an idyllic 2.2 acre campus that was once a German farmstead. NOTE: This is NOT a fundraiser! Great pains were taken to make this opportunity as affordable as possible. (Actual costs: $67 per person coach bus fee + $25 museum admission and catered lunch. NO planning fees! NO donations to the sponsoring nonprofits!) All are welcome, but this field trip has a limited capacity. The reservation deadline is Thursday, April 6, 2023. Call MHAHS at 608-437-6486 for more info, or to register today!
