Experience the Magic of Finnish Dance and Music at Folklore Village

On Saturday, July 6, Folklore Village invites you to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Finnish dance and music. Join us for an unforgettable day filled with rhythm, camaraderie, and cultural celebration.

The festivities commence at 4:00pm with a lively Finnish dance workshop led by Lauluaika, where participants of all skill levels can learn the basic steps of Finnish dances and enjoy some fun mixers. Following the workshop, at 6:00pm, gather with friends old and new for a delightful potluck, followed by an evening dance where you can showcase your newfound dance skills.

Lauluaika, Finnish for “Song Time,” will lead the dance workshop and provide the musical backdrop for the evening dance. Their repertoire includes a variety of Finnish couples dances such as waltzes, polkas, humppa, jenkka (schottische), masurkka, and hambo, as well as lively group dances suitable for all ages.
