A special kids and family holiday tour! Begin your underground adventure traveling on paved, lighted walkways through the WARM cave as you pass spectacular crystallized rock formations Each child will receive reindeer antlers and a red nose before heading down into the deepest part of the cave to look for Rudolf and his friends. See if you can find them all! See the beautiful colors in the Painted Waterfall and look up to see all of the cave formations. Receive your own colorful Jingle ‘N ROCK glow stick to wear for the rest of the tour. We have gathered a variety of percussion and rhythm instruments for you to try inside the cave! See what sounds you can make and how the sound travels underground. Experience how minerals in the cave respond to ultraviolet light and take home your own fluorescent mineral. Discover Surprise Cave and make a holiday wish at the Dream River. Chiaroscuro Passage light display: “Chiaroscuro” is an Italian word meaning “light-dark” and in art is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark. Experience the beauty of light in darkness in this unique installation. We have saved the best for last in the largest room in the cave. Everyone grab some bells and get ready to sing and play “Jingle Bells” as loud as you can so Santa can hear! If we play and sing loud enough there is a very good chance Santa will pay us a visit INSIDE the cave! He has been known to stop at Cave of the Mounds this time of year.
